About Me

My name is Glenn Rose. I am a first year here at UNE, majoring in Psychology and will be adding a minor in Art Therapy. I was born in North Adams, Massachusetts and moved around for awhile until we settled down in our house in Saco where my family has lived for the past 14 years. But living in New Gloucester, Maine created my love for the outdoors. In fact my mum tells me the story that my first step was towards a juicy blueberry in our backyard. At age 3, I climbed my first mountain and haven’t stopped since then. I love being in the outdoors, I have a sense of freedom when I’m pushing my body to the limits searching for the world’s hidden beauty. I have a unique take on the world and that’s why two years ago I got into photography, always striving to become a better artist. School has been a good outlet for brain, it seems to wander all over the place and is constantly searching for more to do. I have an outlook on education is that there are two things that I learn from school, the first being general knowledge about topics I am interested in. The other is how to learn, which I find the most important concept to learn, knowing how to learn means that as long as you have the information you can teach yourself and in the world we live in now people of a growth mindset, who are willing to learn and change will succeed. I hope to one day get my doctorate in counseling psychology and run my own practice helping everyone I can to achieve a happier life since I already have one. But before I get there I want to go off the grid and explore France for a year on my own, see the world before I settle down.
